Alan Cumming, host of 'The Traitors,' is embracing a new era for the hit reality series with its upcoming spinoff, 'The Traitors: New Blood.' Premiering on September 17, the show will feature 22 newcomers, referred to by Cumming as "ordinary Americans," competing for up to $250,000. This departure from celebrity and reality TV veteran contestants offers a fresh dynamic.

Cumming finds this change "brilliant" and "epic," noting that the lack of pre-existing personas allows for greater viewer engagement. He explained that this unfamiliarity creates a more immersive experience for contestants and raises the stakes, as the prize money significantly impacts everyday individuals. The civilian cast ranges in age from 23 to 65, bringing diverse professional backgrounds to the game.

However, the intensity of some challenges led to notable reactions, with Cumming recalling that some participants experienced panic attacks. He humorously described the newcomers' treachery as "kindly treacherous."
