Al Diaz, renowned co-founder of the SAMO© art collective, has partnered with DARKCIRCLE for a new limited edition capsule collection. This collaboration, released by D'Stassi Art London, features a range of items including canvas totes, t-shirts, hoodies, prints, and tapestries.
The collection's pricing starts at $68 for a tote bag and extends to $1,282 for jumbo tapestries. A unique chore jacket, hand-embellished as a 1-of-1, was exclusively sold at the gallery's opening.
This art drop coincides with Diaz's first UK exhibition, "SAMO: TRANSATLANTICATION," which opened on Friday, September 25th, in Shoreditch. The exhibition includes new paintings, a mural, and street interventions created by Diaz.
Diaz, who began his artistic journey in 1971, co-created SAMO© with Jean-Michel Basquiat in the 1970s, conceptualizing it as a mass communication tool. The recent release of the feature film "Samo Lives" has also brought renewed attention to their early years.
