Priyadarshan is preparing to direct his 99th film, a comedy-thriller starring Akshay Kumar as a tiger hunter. The project, set in the 1970s, is scheduled to begin filming in the last week of November. Ramesh Taurani is producing the movie, which will have a three-month shooting schedule across Rajasthan and Mumbai, with Bhopal also being considered as a location.
Annu Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav are reportedly joining the cast, though a female lead is still being sought. The film is expected to combine comedy with thriller elements and touch upon wildlife conservation. Previous reports suggested the story is fictional, inspired by the life of Jim Corbett, a renowned hunter and naturalist who later championed conservation.
This collaboration marks another project for the popular duo Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan, who have previously worked on hits like 'Hera Pheri' and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa'. Rohan Shankar, who penned 'Bhooth Bangla' with Priyadarshan, is co-writing this upcoming film.
