Akshay Kumar Defends Wamiqa Gabbi from Comparisons

Akshay Kumar has addressed the ongoing social media comparisons of his "Bhooth Bangla" co-star, Wamiqa Gabbi. Online discussions have drawn parallels between Gabbi and Aishwarya Rai for her striking eyes, and her on-screen chemistry with Kumar to his previous pairings with Katrina Kaif.

Kumar, in a recent conversation, emphasized that while Gabbi possesses eyes similar to Aishwarya Rai's, she has carved out her own distinct identity in the film industry. He noted her personal journey, marked by significant struggles, and her work across various regional and national film industries, including Punjabi, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil cinema, exploring diverse genres.

The film "Bhooth Bangla," a horror-comedy directed by Priyadarshan, reunites Kumar and the director after 14 years. It also features Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Jisshu Sengupta, and Tabu. The movie's plot revolves around London-based Arjun (Kumar) who inherits a palace and uncovers a local legend about a mysterious entity that disrupts weddings.

Looking ahead, Akshay Kumar is slated to appear in "Welcome to the Jungle," directed by Ahmed Khan. This ensemble film, scheduled for release on June 6, 2026, boasts a star-studded cast including Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, and Arshad Warsi.
