Akon Confirms Multiple Wives: 'Queen' Wife Rules All

Singer Akon has confirmed he is currently in a multi-partner relationship, stating he has multiple wives without specifying the exact number. He shared these details during a recent appearance on the We Need to Talk podcast.

Akon elaborated on the foundational principles of his relationship structure. He explained that a strict family hierarchy is essential, with his first wife holding the esteemed position of 'queen.' He emphasized that this primary wife's authority is paramount, and any partner who disrespects or violates her standing is immediately dismissed.

This public discussion about his personal life follows a divorce filing by his wife of nearly three decades, Tomeka Thiam. The filing occurred in September 2025, citing irreconcilable differences. Thiam also requested joint legal custody of their 17-year-old daughter, Journey, along with physical custody and spousal support.
