A rare illustration by Akira Toriyama, originally published on September 19, 1990, has resurfaced, evoking memories of Gohan's most intense moments in the Dragon Ball saga. This sketch, featured on the official Dragon Ball website on November 6, 2026, depicts a young Gohan with a fierce expression, reminiscent of his power during the Frieza Saga.
During the Namek storyline, Gohan's anger frequently triggered unexpected surges of strength. His actions against Frieza's soldiers and his confrontation with Frieza himself after Krillin's injury showcased a terrifying potential. This power, unlike Goku's steady development through training, often manifested during extreme emotional distress.
The sketch serves as a reminder of Gohan's volatile yet compelling character. It highlights a period where his unpredictable power made him a standout figure, capable of momentarily overwhelming even formidable foes when those he cared for were endangered.
