Akhanda 2 Targets $2.5M Breakeven in North America
12 Nov
Summary
- Akhanda 2 set for December release, high box office potential
- Breakeven target of $2.5M (₹22.15 crore) in North America
- Needs to outperform Balakrishna's last US release by 61.29%

As of November 12, 2025, the highly anticipated sequel Akhanda 2, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, is gearing up for its grand theatrical release in December. The film is generating significant ground-level buzz and is expected to have huge box office potential, not only in India but also overseas, particularly in North America (the USA and Canada).
According to the latest reports, the overseas theatrical rights for Akhanda 2 have been acquired by Moksha Movies and CineGalaxy, who will also handle the North American distribution. In the North American market, the film has a breakeven target of $2.5 million, which is approximately ₹22.15 crore. This means the film must earn at least $2.5 million to avoid being a loss venture in the US and Canada.
Considering the high hype surrounding the sequel, the breakeven target seems achievable. However, the film will still need to maintain a good pace after a record-breaking start to become a profitable venture for the distributors. Balakrishna's last theatrical release in North America, Daaku Maharaaj, opened at $735,000 and concluded its run with $1.55 million. In comparison, Akhanda 2 will need to score 61.29% more than Daaku Maharaaj to achieve the breakeven mark in the North American box office.
