The much-awaited film Akhanda 2, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, has officially set its new worldwide release date for December 12, with paid premieres scheduled for the preceding day, December 11. This revised schedule follows the successful resolution of legal and financial conflicts that had previously caused the film's postponement from its original December 5 date. The resolution brings relief to fans eagerly awaiting the movie's release.
The legal hurdles stemmed from an arbitral dispute between Eros International Media Limited and 14 Reels Entertainment Private Limited, amounting to around Rs 28 crore, which led to a temporary restraining order from the Madras High Court. With these financial matters now settled, the production house, 14 Reels Plus, is resuming promotional activities to build anticipation for the film's grand opening.
Akhanda 2: Thaandavam boasts Nandamuri Balakrishna in a triple role, supported by a cast including Samyuktha and Aadhi Pinisetty. Directed by Boyapati Srinu, the film promises a blend of mass action, devotional themes, and emotional storytelling, further amplified by music from S Thaman. The team has also sought permission for higher ticket prices and paid premieres in Telugu states to bolster commercial prospects.
