Air Force Hero's Valor Uncovered in Gripping New Film

In a move that will delight fans of true-life military dramas, acclaimed director Ron Howard is set to helm the upcoming film "Alone at Dawn." The movie, which will receive a theatrical release, is based on the New York Times bestselling book of the same name and tells the story of Air Force Combat Controller John Chapman.

According to the official synopsis, the film will follow an "intelligence officer" who strives to prove Chapman's valor, ultimately leading an investigation that secures him the prestigious Medal of Honor. Adam Driver has been cast to portray Chapman, while Anne Hathaway will also star in the production.

"Alone at Dawn" falls under a recently renewed first-look film deal between Amazon MGM Studios and Howard's production company, Imagine Entertainment. The project was brought to Imagine by The Hideaway Entertainment and Thruline Entertainment, who optioned the original book manuscript in a competitive situation. Screenwriter Michael Russell Gunn has adapted the script, with later revisions by Erin Cressida Wilson and Amy Herzog.

The film is expected to provide a gripping and authentic depiction of Chapman's heroic actions, with military consultant and former Combat Control Technician Dan Schilling serving in an advisory role. Schilling's sister, Lori Longfritz, is also involved as a producer, having co-authored the original book.
