Aimee Wood's BAFTA Double Nomination for White Lotus Role

Aimee Wood, a breakout British actor, is set to be a significant presence at the upcoming BAFTA TV Awards with two nominations. Her role as the unconventional backpacker Chelsea in 'The White Lotus' Season 3 has earned her a nomination in the supporting actress category. Additionally, she is nominated for leading actress for her work in the romcom 'Film Club', which she also co-created. This marks a significant milestone in Wood's burgeoning career, which began with her debut as Aimee Gibbs in the popular Netflix series 'Sex Education'.

Wood expressed great enthusiasm for her role as Chelsea, describing the character as a "misfit and an outsider" who embarks on a "mission of love" at the luxury resort. She found playing Chelsea, who is oblivious to the White Lotus's typical clientele, to be a particularly enjoyable experience. The actress also highlighted the strong on-screen chemistry with co-star Walton Goggins, who played her older boyfriend, noting that their dynamic was key to her casting.

Beyond 'The White Lotus', Wood's versatility is underscored by her nomination for 'Film Club.' She views the film as a message of self-acceptance, encouraging viewers to embrace life's uncertainties. The actress, who has found success after 'Sex Education,' remains grounded, acknowledging that while her life has changed dramatically, she hasn't lost sight of herself. Her upcoming projects include portraying Patti Boyd in an upcoming Beatles biopic, a role that presents new challenges and opportunities.
