An indie romantic drama, released in 2024 and starring Joe Mantegna, has been innovatively converted for vertical mobile viewing using advanced AI. This creative tool, described as a "Swiss army knife of AI features," allows films to be repurposed for microdrama viewers while also enabling a switch to wider formats. The converted film was made available on Tubi and Prime Video as a transactional download on February 1st.
The HighFive platform, developed by director Jason Strickland and Kumbáli Satori, is presented as the first interactive vertical video studio designed for phones. It boasts the capability to create vertical and immersive experiences, potentially saving up to 65% of movie budgets. Strickland, who has a background as a child actor and producer, collaborated with Satori's HigherKey to develop this conversion system.
Satori's HigherKey platform reportedly engineers proprietary computing and intelligence that can restore legacy films to 4K resolution and reconstruct composition and narrative focus. The technology was expanded to fully transform movies into a vertical format. "We are creating technology that allows creatives to be creative," Satori stated, emphasizing the blend of human emotion with technological advancement in future filmmaking.
