Ray's song "Find Your Rest" has reached number one on the Gospel Digital Song Sales chart, with several other tracks also charting. Townsend, a conservative rapper with a significant online following, developed Solomon Ray using AI platforms such as Suno for music and ChatGPT for lyric assistance, drawing inspiration from other AI music endeavors.

Townsend views artificial intelligence in music as a significant technological advancement, comparing its current reception to the initial resistance against CGI in filmmaking. He believes that AI, or 'computer-generated vocals' as he calls it, will become an indispensable part of the industry. Despite the prevalence of anti-AI sentiment, Townsend remains unfazed, viewing criticism as potential publicity and a testament to the disruptive nature of the technology.

He highlighted that his songwriting process using AI tools like Suno allows for rapid iteration and refinement, enabling him to quickly produce polished songs and album art.
