Nene Royal Scores AGT Finals Ticket with Rock Power!

The August 25 episode of America's Got Talent featured its Quarterfinals, with eleven acts competing for advancement. Simon Cowell was absent for several weeks due to a routine procedure related to a past back injury, leaving Howie Mandel, Mel B., and Sofia Vergara to judge.

Nene Royal, a teenage rocker and Mandel's callback act, delivered a standout performance of "Black Hole Sun." Her combination of vocals and guitar playing earned a massive audience reaction, prompting Mandel to suggest she should receive the $1 million prize. Vergara lauded her potential to win the competition.

Mel B. was deeply impressed by Royal's talent, despite the music genre not being her typical preference. The judge praised Royal's vocals, guitar work, and overall stage presence. Ultimately, Mel B. awarded Royal the Live Golden Buzzer, securing her a direct place in the Finals.

Other notable performances included aerialist Veronika Goroshkova, magician Geno Ploeger, and dance group Come Here, all receiving strong praise. Singing duo Nyjah Music & Zyah Rhythm faced criticism for a lack of confidence and experience. Extreme danger duo Brad & Tracy also performed, with Mel B. using her red buzzer.

Singing duo Butter and Grit closed the night with an original song, earning positive comments on their vocals and friendship. The results of the public vote, determining which other acts advance to the Semifinals, were set to be revealed during the following night's broadcast.
