Mia Wasikowska dives into Sarajevo's war past

Mia Wasikowska stars as a Polish-Australian novelist in "Agata the Writer," which is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival. The film will compete in the Venice Days section.

As Agata grapples with creative uncertainty, a mystery unfolds with the disappearance of provocative artworks. The film ultimately explores themes of resilience and the profound responsibilities that accompany storytelling.

"Agata the Writer" is produced by Alex White, known for "Babyteeth," which also premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

Principal production funding for the film came from Screen Australia, with additional support from Creative Australia and the Adelaide Film Festival Investment Fund.
