7 May
Summary
- Nomadic Film Space aims to connect African producers with investors.
- It launches with events at the Cannes Marché du Film in May.
- The platform seeks to bridge a critical gap in international film financing.

The Nomadic Film Space, a new initiative by pan-African film studio Yetu (Un)limited and its partners, is scheduled to launch from May 14-15 at the Cannes Marché du Film. This platform is designed to address a significant gap in the international film industry by directly connecting African and diaspora creative producers with sources of private equity and institutional capital.
The initiative moves beyond traditional market encounters, offering a structured environment for producers to engage with investors knowledgeable about the African film sector. Events will include a workshop on "Producing the Future: Innovative Financing Models for African Cinemas" and a case study on Afreximbank's Canex Creations investment strategy.
Additionally, the second edition of "The African and Diasporic Audience Development Think Tank" will be presented on May 15. Initiated in 2025, this traveling think tank combines market research with co-creation of audience design methodologies, building on the success of its pilot edition in Salvador, Brazil.
