Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will be honored with the 9th Robin Williams Legacy of Laughter Award on April 27th. The award, presented by Robin Williams' children Zak, Zelda, and Cody Williams, will be given at Bring Change to Mind's Revels & Revelations Celebration in San Francisco. This event marks 15 years for the nonprofit, which aims to end the stigma surrounding mental illness. Affleck and Damon expressed deep gratitude, stating they owe everything to Williams, who greenlit their film "Good Will Hunting."
The celebration also honors philanthropist Pam Baer with a Champion of Change Award for her work in mental health awareness. Bring Change to Mind, founded by Glenn Close in 2010, is dedicated to supporting young people in discussing mental health openly. The fundraiser, held at the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, has already sold out.
Williams, who died in August 2014, left a profound impact on the actors, particularly through their work on "Good Will Hunting." Both actors have previously shared heartfelt tributes to Williams, remembering his friendship, joy, and the profound encouragement he offered them during the early stages of their careers. Previous recipients of the Legacy of Laughter Award include Amy Poehler and Ryan Reynolds.
