This potential comeback follows the unfortunate cancellation of their 'Peace Out ... Farewell Tour' in September 2023. The tour was cut short after only three shows due to Steven Tyler suffering a fractured larynx. The band had initially postponed then canceled the outing, announcing their retirement from touring.
Despite the previous retirement announcement, guitarist Joe Perry indicated in April 2026 that the band was exploring "other options" beyond touring. He noted that Tyler had recently begun feeling comfortable singing again after a year-long recovery, emphasizing the fragility of vocal cords and the need for careful progression.
