ADOR Vows Strict Legal Action to Shield NewJeans from Online Harassment

In a move to safeguard the rights and well-being of its K-pop group NewJeans, ADOR has recently intensified its legal efforts against escalating online harassment and ongoing disputes. On November 17, 2025, the agency announced it is rigorously monitoring and taking strict legal action against malicious online posts, including fake news, privacy invasion, and deepfake crimes targeting the group.

ADOR's renewed focus on protection follows a series of legal victories, including a decisive court ruling on October 30, 2025, that validated the exclusive contracts between ADOR and NewJeans. The Seoul Central District Court confirmed ADOR held no breach of contract, rejecting the group's claims that the relationship of trust had irreparably broken down. The court upheld a prior injunction restricting NewJeans' members from undertaking independent activities without ADOR's consent.

This court decision marked the end of a long, contentious dispute between ADOR and NewJeans' members, who had sought to terminate their contracts amid disagreements over management, especially after the former CEO's dismissal. Despite these challenges, ADOR presented evidence of ongoing management efforts, including album releases, scheduling tours, and securing advertising deals.

Following the court ruling, several NewJeans members announced their return to ADOR, with Haerin and Hyein officially resuming work under the agency in early November. Minji, Hanni, and Danielle also expressed intentions to return, although negotiations with ADOR continue. The agency emphasized its dedication to supporting each member's career growth and ensuring their rights are protected as the group moves forward.
