- The script for 'The Hunt for Ben Solo' was completed.
- Fans actively campaigned for the project's revival.
Adam Driver has confirmed that his previously discussed Star Wars spinoff project, tentatively titled 'The Hunt for Ben Solo,' is officially cancelled. Driver, who portrayed Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, revealed this during a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show on November 4, 2026. He explained that the project, which he had been developing for several years with director Steven Soderbergh, is no longer moving forward.
Despite a completed script that Driver described as "really good" and "awesome," the actor stated that Disney executives ultimately decided against it, even after Lucasfilm showed interest. He noted that the decision was not his to make and that "the ship has sailed." Driver also commented on the significant fan support for the project, mentioning elaborate campaigns such as billboards and planes flying over Disney.
Driver and Soderbergh had aimed to produce 'The Hunt for Ben Solo' affordably, focusing on a handmade, character-driven approach similar to 'The Empire Strikes Back.' Driver is currently promoting his new crime drama 'Paper Tiger,' set for release on November 13, 2026. He also recently appeared in 'Misty Green' and is slated for Marvel's X-Men reboot and a sequel to 'Heat.'
