This approach led her to take on a challenging role as a serial killer and psychopath in the series 'Sunflower.' In this character, she manipulates and extorts individuals, even resorting to extreme actions like scooping out eyeballs.

Sharma shared her initial apprehension about accepting such a dark character, especially after her widely acclaimed role as a victim in 'The Kerala Story.' She intentionally sought roles that pushed her boundaries. The dialogues were explicit, and the character's actions were described as intense, requiring Sharma to deeply embody a personality far removed from her own.

Furthermore, Sharma spoke about the meticulous process of portraying multiple distinct characters within a single project. She stressed the importance of differentiating each role through unique accents, voices, and mannerisms. The only character that allowed for some overlap with her personal self was Rita Sanyal.
