Netflix's Ad Vitam Sequel Begins Filming

Principal photography has begun on Ad Vitam Eternam, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2025 Netflix action thriller Ad Vitam. Guillaume Canet returns as ex-elite agent Franck Lazareff, reprising the role he played in the first installment where he investigated a conspiracy.

The narrative picks up immediately following the events of Ad Vitam. Lazareff, recently released from prison after his wife's evidence cleared his name, becomes the target of an assassination attempt. Seeking refuge with his family in the mountains, his location is compromised when French intelligence services approach him with a covert mission.

This exchange is offered in return for the truth Lazareff seeks regarding those who wish him dead. Ludovic Colbeau-Justin directs the new film, taking over from Rodolphe Lauga. Canet co-wrote the screenplay with Maxime Chattam and David Corona.

The cast sees the return of Stéphane Caillard, Nassim Lyes, and Zita Hanrot, augmented by new additions including Nicolas Duvauchelle, Sophie Marceau, and Mathieu Amalric. Filming is taking place across various French regions: Ile-de-France, Normandy, Savoie, and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. The original Ad Vitam, released on January 10, 2025, achieved significant success, drawing 54 million views on Netflix within its first month.
