Summary
- Rose Byrne played minor role of Dormé in Attack of the Clones
- Byrne describes her Star Wars experience as "so sweet" and is "ready" to return
- Dormé had limited lines but Byrne's emotional exchange with Padmé was "more resonant"

In the two decades since Rose Byrne first appeared in the Star Wars universe, the Australian actress has grown to deeply appreciate her small but memorable role. Byrne played the handmaid Dormé in the 2002 prequel film Attack of the Clones, and despite her character's limited screen time and dialogue, she considers it a privilege to have been part of the iconic franchise.
Reflecting on her Star Wars experience, Byrne shared that she feels a strong connection to the larger-than-life saga. "To be even a microscopic piece of the [Star Wars] universe is so sweet, how you just resonate, and you're still are part of this dialogue, this chain of characters in this film, this universe that resonates with people," she said in a recent podcast interview.
While Dormé only utters "about one or two lines" before disappearing from the film, Byrne revealed that her emotional exchange with Natalie Portman's Padmé Amidala is the moment she cherishes most. "The first one I feel is more resonant. It's a fraught situation. I'm establishing there's a situation, and it's fraught, and my feelings about it, and her feelings about it," the actress explained.
Now, with the Star Wars franchise continuing to expand with new films and series, Byrne is eager to revisit the galaxy she briefly inhabited over two decades ago. "I'm ready!" she proclaimed, hopeful that her phone will soon ring with an offer to reprise her role as Dormé or take on a new character in the ever-evolving Star Wars universe.
