Summary
- Actress finds decade-old $1M check from ex-husband Charlie Sheen
- Couple appears on good terms despite tumultuous divorce in 2006
- Sheen admits he "made it a lot more difficult than it needed to be"

In a surprising turn of events, actress Denise Richards has uncovered a $1 million check from her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen, that she never cashed. The check, dated December 24, 2011, was discovered by Richards during a recent move.
Posting a photo of the check on her Instagram Stories, Richards jokingly asked Sheen if the check was still valid, soundtracking the image with the Pink Floyd song "Money." The former couple, who divorced in 2006 after a tumultuous marriage, appear to be on good terms these days.
In September 2025, Sheen and Richards stepped out together at the Los Angeles premiere of Sheen's Netflix documentary, posing for photos and sharing a hug. Sheen, who has been sober since 2017, acknowledged in the documentary that he "made it a lot more difficult than it needed to be" during their marriage.
Despite the challenges they faced, Richards and Sheen share two daughters, Sami and Lola, who are now 21 and 20 years old, respectively. Richards has said she "didn't want to judge him based on the tabloids" when they first met and that she believes in destiny, as she "wouldn't have Sami and Lola if it weren't for him."
As Richards navigates her own ongoing divorce and legal battle with her current husband, Aaron Phypers, the discovery of the decade-old check serves as a reminder of the complex and often unpredictable nature of relationships, even among the rich and famous.
