Actress Andrea Evans Reclaims Her Life After Decade-Long Stalker Nightmare

In October 2025, the entertainment world mourned the loss of actress Andrea Evans, who passed away in 2023 at the age of 66 after a battle with cancer. Evans, best known for her role as Tina Clayton on the soap opera "One Life to Live," had a remarkable career that was nearly derailed by a decade-long stalker ordeal.

Evans' troubles began in 1987 when a man started sending her threatening letters and documents, eventually confronting her at the ABC studios in New York. The situation escalated, with the stalker slashing his wrists and using Evans' name as his next of kin. Over the next few years, Evans faced a barrage of death threats, some written in blood, and the stalker was repeatedly institutionalized only to be released near her home and workplace.

The stress of the situation became too much, and in 1990, Evans quit "One Life to Live" and moved away from New York to escape the stalker. It would be nearly a decade before she returned to television, appearing on "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "Passions." Despite the trauma, Evans refused to let the stalker define her, saying, "This is me. I'm not going to give up any more parts of me."
