Actor Sandhya Mridul has voiced her strong disapproval after a young woman employed as domestic help at her home was refused a haircut at two different salons. Mridul shared that her mother took the woman, in her twenties, for a haircut, but both establishments turned them away.

This experience left Mridul saddened and prompted her to share a video message advocating for greater dignity, respect, and kindness towards domestic staff. She stressed that these individuals are human and not invisible, often becoming like family members.

Mridul stated the intention was not to shame specific businesses but to address the widespread discriminatory mindset. She recounted her mother's pleas at the second salon, which eventually agreed to provide the service after significant argument.

The actor questioned the societal values that allow such behavior, drawing parallels to other instances where domestic workers are excluded from certain spaces. Several public figures, including Ali Fazal and Shabana Azmi, responded to Mridul's post, condemning the discriminatory actions and underscoring the importance of treating all individuals with respect.
