Baldy Sir Immortalized: Actor's Real-Life War Hero Portrayal

Mihir Ahuja, portraying Flying Officer CH Bal Reddy in "Operation Safed Sagar," recently shared a touching message from the war hero himself. Bal Reddy expressed that Ahuja "immortalised" his character, with his wife adding that the actor did a far better job than Bal Reddy himself. Ahuja recounted the intense pressure of embodying a real-life hero, especially with only two days for preparation. He felt blessed to be part of a project that highlights a genuine war hero's story.

The actor discussed filming in authentic environments, including near a MiG aircraft relevant to the war. He took time to observe Air Force officers, gather notes, and understand their world to bring a truthful portrayal to the screen. Ahuja's approach prioritized authentic storytelling over mimicking mannerisms, aiming to convey the significant events that unfolded behind the scenes.

Shooting amidst real fighter jets offered a surreal experience for the cast. Ahuja reflected on his career, feeling fortunate that versatile and distinct roles have found him. He believes that in his journey, projects have chosen him, particularly one that allows him to represent a real-life figure.

Ahuja also shared that Bal Reddy saved his contact as "Baldy" and sent a message praising the portrayal. Prajakta Koli, an influencer-turned-actor, plays Madhavi in the series. Ahuja expressed a desire to take on diverse roles moving forward, continuing to explore his acting versatility.
