Sarah J Maas, author of the globally successful A Court Of Thorns And Roses (Acotar) series, has officially announced the upcoming releases of the sixth and seventh books in the popular "romantasy" saga. The sixth installment is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 27, with the seventh book to follow shortly after on January 12.
These new books will continue the narrative following the events of 2021's "A Court Of Silver Flames." Maas shared during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she is developing one expansive story told in four distinct parts. The initial parts of this major narrative will be presented across Acotar 6 and Acotar 7, with the conclusion arriving later.
Maas explained that the story "came out of me in a way that surprised me," growing significantly larger than initially planned. She likened the reading experience to consuming one massive story rather than a standard trilogy, noting that arcs would not be fully concluded within a single volume. The author expressed deep gratitude to her fans for their patience and passion for the series.
