In a highly anticipated move, Sony has finalized the cast for Sam Mendes' upcoming "The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event." The films will each focus on a different member of the iconic band, with Mia McKenna-Bruce, Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, and Aimee Lou Wood set to portray the first wives of Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and George Harrison.
McKenna-Bruce will play Ringo Starr's first wife, Maureen (Cox) Starkey, while Ronan will take on the role of Paul McCartney's first wife, Linda (Eastman) McCartney. Sawai is confirmed to play John Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono, and Wood will bring to life George Harrison's first wife, Pattie Boyd.
The films, which will be released in theaters in April 2028, mark the first time The Beatles and Apple Corps Ltd. have authorized the use of the band members' life stories and music in scripted projects. Mendes will direct the four films, which are being produced by his Neal Street Productions in association with Apple Corps for Sony Pictures.
"Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right," said Mendes. "And I'm thrilled that we've managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure."
