According to the latest news, acclaimed actor Holmes has joined the expanding cast of the upcoming comedy feature 'Trash Mountain'. The film, which is currently in production in Chicago, was previously announced to feature a talented ensemble including Caleb Hearon, Zooey Deschanel, Jacki Weaver, Kyle Marvin, and Jaboukie Young-White.
Directed by Kris Rey (I Used to Go Here), 'Trash Mountain' follows the story of 27-year-old gay man Gavin, played by Hearon, who is thriving in Chicago. However, the sudden death of his father forces Gavin to return to his hometown in rural Missouri, where he and his half-sister Abbi, portrayed by Deschanel, must navigate challenging family dynamics and their complicated relationships with the past.
The film is written by Hearon and Ruby Caster, with Lilly Wachowski serving as an executive producer alongside Julie Lebedev, Eddie Vaisman, Carrie Holt De Lama, Zachary Spicer, Chris Cafero, and Scott Goldstein. Colin Trevorrow is also producing the project through his Metronome banner.
Holmes, known for their roles in A24/Amazon's 'Overcompensating', Fox's 'Welcome to Flatch', and a recurring part in the Emmy-winning HBO Max series 'Hacks', is the latest addition to the impressive cast of 'Trash Mountain'.
