Access Hollywood Films Finale at Universal Orlando
27 Mar
Summary
- Access Hollywood filming concludes this summer for 2026 schedule.
- Mario Lopez filmed segments at Universal Orlando theme park.
- Show's cancellation aims to align better with local network preferences.
Network and cable television is experiencing a shift, with many longtime news hosts moving to streaming platforms or podcasts. This trend impacts even established shows like Access Hollywood, which was recently announced to be canceled.
However, the cancellation is not immediate. Access Hollywood will continue filming for the 2026 television schedule through the summer. Host Mario Lopez was recently observed filming segments at Universal Orlando, even taking time to enjoy the new Epic Universe theme park with his family.
NBC Universal's decision to cancel the show reportedly stems from a desire to "better align with local network preferences." While new episodes will cease production, the existing library will be maintained. This period at Universal Orlando served as a "last hurrah" for the show's current chapter.
