Aberdeen Transforms into Winter Wonderland with Festive Events

As the holiday season approaches, the city of Aberdeen, South Dakota, is gearing up to host a variety of festive events that will transform the city into a winter wonderland. According to the Aberdeen Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Aberdeen "has so many great events that make the holidays a magical time!"

One of the long-standing traditions is Winterfest, a nearly 50-year-old event that takes place the weekend before Thanksgiving. Held inside the Aberdeen Civic Arena, Winterfest provides an opportunity for shoppers to get a head start on their Christmas lists and find unique gifts for the hard-to-buy-for person. In addition to the wide variety of handcrafted items for sale, the event also features entertainment and food.

Another popular event is the FEZtival of Trees, now in its fourth season. This six-day festival, co-sponsored by the Aberdeen Area Arts Council, showcases more than 70 beautifully decorated Christmas trees and gift baskets. Visitors can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win these festive displays. The festival also features local musicians and family-friendly entertainment.

These events aim to bring joy and create lasting memories for both residents and visitors to Aberdeen during the holiday season. With a focus on unique gifts, local entertainment, and family-friendly activities, the city is transforming into a true winter wonderland.
