Aarya Babbar: Let Go of My Father's Past Love

Aarya Babbar, son of veteran actor Raj Babbar, has spoken about his father's past relationship with the late actress Smita Patil. Aarya, now 44, reflected that while the affair brought pain, it is a chapter the family has long since closed and urged the public to move on.

He recounted that during his early childhood, his father, Raj Babbar, was married to Nadira Babbar and had a relationship with Smita Patil, with whom he had a son, Prateik Babbar. Smita Patil passed away in 1986 shortly after giving birth, and Raj Babbar later reunited with Nadira.

Aarya shared his personal journey of coming to terms with the situation, noting that he decided to call Smita Patil 'maa' out of respect for his younger brother Prateik, who also referred to Nadira Babbar as 'maa'.

He also touched upon his father's temporary move to live with Smita Patil and his eventual return to the family after Smita's passing. Aarya expressed empathy for his father's emotional struggles following such a profound loss.
