13 May
Summary
- A psychiatrist and clinic settled a lawsuit over Aaron Carter's death.
- The lawsuit claimed wrongful prescriptions led to Carter's drowning.
- The settlement occurred in April, with other defendants pending.

A confidential financial settlement has been reached in the wrongful death lawsuit concerning Aaron Carter. In April, a psychiatrist and a mental health clinic agreed to terms.
Melanie Martin, Aaron Carter's ex-fiancée, filed the lawsuit in October 2023 on behalf of their son, Princeton Lyric Carter. The suit contended that various doctors, dentists, and pharmacies negligently prescribed medications to Carter.
Specifically, the lawsuit alleged that Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, and Alprazolam were prescribed without medical need, despite awareness of Carter's mental health issues. These prescriptions, coupled with his psychiatric condition, allegedly should have alerted medical professionals.
Aaron Carter was discovered deceased in his bathtub in November 2022. The official cause of death was attributed to drowning, precipitated by the use of Xanax and huffing. Walgreens, a Santa Monica dentist, and a local pharmacy remain as defendants in the ongoing case.
