Plans for a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, helmed by director Rajkumar Hirani and starring Aamir Khan, have reportedly been postponed. The film was initially slated to commence production in March. Khan expressed his profound respect for Phalke and acknowledged that Hirani has conducted considerable research for the project. However, Khan indicated that the script is not yet fully developed, with Hirani actively working on it. The decision on whether the film will proceed hinges on the final script's shape.
This project would mark Aamir Khan's third collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani, following their successful ventures in "3 Idiots" (2009) and "PK" (2014). Khan shared these insights during a conversation at golfer Amit Luthra's 18th Invitational Fundraiser Tournament in 2026. He also lauded the Golf Foundation's initiative to introduce golf to underprivileged children, highlighting the sport's perceived elitism due to high costs and infrastructure requirements.
