Gauri Spratt is the granddaughter of Philip Spratt, a British intellectual who came to India in the 1920s with the aim of establishing the Communist Party of India. He was instrumental in organizing Indian workers, beginning with the Workers and Peasants' Party.
Philip Spratt's activities led to his arrest in 1929 as part of the Meerut Conspiracy Case, where he and 30 other leaders were accused of conspiring against the British. After serving four years in prison, his ideology shifted, and he began advocating for human rights and democracy in India.
After his release, Philip Spratt remained in India, eventually joining the Swatantra Party. In his later years, he wrote for Swarajya magazine, expressing his view that communism would have endangered Indian freedom.
Gauri Spratt pursued fashion design and photography in London before co-owning and managing Bblunt, a haircare company, since 2007. She is expected to collaborate with Aamir Khan on creative ventures. She was previously married and has a son named Quinn from that union.
