The 2026 Aacta Awards saw 'Bring Her Back' emerge as the night's biggest winner, clinching 10 accolades from 16 nominations. The horror-thriller by Danny and Michael Philippou secured top honors including best film, best direction, and best leading actress for Sally Hawkins. It also swept nearly all technical categories, surpassing the success of their previous film, 'Talk to Me'.
Jacob Elordi continued his awards momentum, earning best lead actor in a drama for 'The Narrow Road to the Deep North'. This Australian adaptation of Richard Flanagan's novel also led the television categories, garnering nine awards, including best supporting actress for Heather Mitchell.
Other notable wins included Margot Robbie for favourite Australian actress and Anna Torv for best lead actress in a drama for 'The Newsreader'. Netflix's 'Apple Cider Vinegar' received two awards, while 'The Correspondent' earned Richard Roxburgh best lead actor in a film. The ceremony, held in the Gold Coast, also honored veteran filmmaker Bruce Beresford with the Longford Lyell lifetime achievement award.
