Explosion Records Shattered for Saudi Action Thriller

Filmmaking duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah achieved new heights of cinematic action while shooting '7 Dogs' in Saudi Arabia, setting two Guinness World Records. The production clinched records for the "largest film stunt explosion in the history of cinema" and "most explosives detonated in a single film take," surpassing previous records with an astonishing 170.7 tonnes of TNT equivalent used.

This action thriller, rumored to have a budget nearing $70 million, is also a pioneering effort as one of Saudi Arabia's most ambitious homegrown films since the country lifted its cinema ban in 2017. The movie boasts an international cast, including Egyptian A-listers Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz, alongside Hollywood and Bollywood stars. The plot follows an Interpol officer and a crime syndicate member forced to unite against a dangerous drug network.

The production utilized state-of-the-art facilities, including the new Al-Hisn Big Time Studios near Riyadh, which features advanced LED volumes and versatile studio spaces. The film's ambition extends to showcasing Saudi Arabia as a viable location for international filmmaking, aiming to attract more global productions and contribute to the country's goal of becoming a major entertainment hub.
