The 2026 BMI Latin Awards, held in Miami Beach, recognized outstanding achievements in Latin music. Luny Tunes received the BMI President's Award for their pioneering work in reggaetón, having produced numerous genre-defining hits.
Venezuela's Elena Rose was presented with the BMI Impact Award, a historic moment as she became the first Latin female artist to receive this honor for her prolific songwriting and rising solo career. Her debut album, Bendito Verano, was released last year.
Further accolades included Jesús Ortiz Pez, known as JOP, named regional Mexican songwriter of the year, and superproducer MAG recognized as contemporary songwriter of the year for his work with artists like Bad Bunny. Karol G's 'Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido' was named contemporary song of the year.
Sony Music Publishing made history by becoming the first publishing company to win both the contemporary Latin and regional Mexican publisher of the year awards since the awards began in 1993. The ceremony also celebrated 51 first-time BMI Latin Award honorees.
