The European Shooting Stars platform, now in its 29th year, is presenting 10 emerging European acting talents at the Berlin Film Festival. Running from February 13-16, this initiative aims to foster international careers through specialized workshops, industry panels, and crucial meetings with journalists, producers, and casting directors.
A jury comprised of industry professionals, including Academy Award-winner Danis Tanović, selected these talents from national nominations. Attendees can anticipate an open event on February 16 at the Berlinale Hub, offering a public introduction through conversations, video clips, and interactive games in a casual atmosphere.
Notable talents include Belgium's Violet Braeckman, praised for her chameleon-like ability; The Netherlands' Joes Brauers, recognized for his gravitas; Albania's Fatlume Bunjaku, admired for her commanding screen presence and dance background; and France's Salif Cissé, a César nominee.
Portugal's Cleo Diára, a Cannes Best Performance awardee, and Austria's Lucas Englander, known for international series, are also featured. Ireland's Danielle Galligan, recognized for her charisma, and Italy's Tecla Insolia, a young talent with musical flair, round out the list.
Norway's Sofia Tjelta Sydness is set to appear in a highly anticipated 2026 film, while Germany's Enno Trebs brings intense precision and maturity, noted for his collaborations with Christian Petzold.
