This figure is a significant improvement compared to the 53.8% capacity recorded in July 2025. The assurance comes amidst a prevailing heatwave across the UK, prompting amber heat health alerts for Yorkshire and other areas.
Despite the generally good reservoir levels, Yorkshire Water is urging customers to conserve water, particularly in Doncaster. This South Yorkshire city has experienced the most substantial increase in water demand, with daily usage hitting 102 million litres during the June heatwave – a 24% rise from April's average. Water usage in Doncaster had already reached 105 million litres on July 8th.
