As of November 14, 2025, Yadgir district in Karnataka has been experiencing a significant dip in night temperatures, forcing residents to stay indoors even after sunrise. The region has faced extreme weather conditions since August, with torrential rainfall and floods in the initial months, followed by sunny days in October and now chilly nights.
According to data from November 9-13, the day temperature in Yadgir averaged between 29-32 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature dropped to 17-18 degrees Celsius. This sudden change in weather has severely impacted the activities of milk and vegetable vendors, as well as newspaper hawkers.
The chilled weather conditions during the winter season are expected to have a negative impact on the health of toddlers and elderly persons, who may suffer from cold, cough, fever, and body ache. Health officials have advised people with asthma, heart-related diseases, diabetes, and high blood pressure to take extra precautions and avoid going out during adverse weather conditions.
