California's mountains, particularly areas above 7,000 feet, are expected to get up to 18 inches of snow, with heavy snowfall anticipated throughout Tuesday. The western slopes of the northern Sierra Nevada and western Plumas County could see 4 to 18 inches. The Lake Tahoe area expects up to 18 inches above 7,000 feet, with strong winds posing risks to watercraft.
