Weather conditions across Uttar Pradesh are anticipated to change from Thursday, January 22, 2026, as the India Meteorological Department forecasts increased cloud cover and potential rainfall. This shift is attributed to a western disturbance impacting the region.
Isolated showers are predicted for western Uttar Pradesh on January 22, 23, and 26, while eastern Uttar Pradesh may experience similar weather on January 23 and 24. Both eastern and western parts of the state could see isolated thunderstorms and lightning on January 23 and 24. Gusty winds, reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph, are also expected during this period.
These atmospheric changes may cause a temperature fluctuation, with both maximum and minimum temperatures potentially dropping by 2-3°C. In the Kanpur division, night temperatures might fluctuate by 1-3°C, offering some respite from the severe cold during the night. Kanpur recently recorded a minimum temperature of 8°C and a maximum of 24.6°C.
