As of Tuesday evening, the UK is experiencing widespread winter hazards, including snow, ice, and flooding. Yellow weather warnings are in effect for Scotland, northern England, and all of Northern Ireland. In England, the Environment Agency has issued 68 flood warnings where flooding is likely, and 198 flood alerts for areas where it is possible.
Snowfall is expected in northern Scotland, with potential accumulations of up to 2cm at lower levels and gusts reaching 50-60 mph. Northern and northeastern England face an ice warning from Monday evening to Tuesday morning, with patchy snow accumulation and icy conditions anticipated. Similar ice warnings are in place for Northern Ireland.
In the Republic of Ireland, a yellow warning for rain has been issued for several counties, predicting high river levels, poor visibility, and difficult travel conditions from Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening. Further winter hazards, including rain, sleet, and snow, are possible for southern England and Wales on Wednesday.
