White Christmas Unlikely as Warm Spell Continues

Chances of a white Christmas are now considered unlikely by the Met Office. Recent temperatures have been unseasonably warm, exceeding 14C in parts of London and Essex earlier this week, despite high winds and downpours.

The current warm weather pattern is anticipated to continue throughout December, diminishing prospects for significant snowfall. While some forecasters suggest isolated snow could occur before Christmas, particularly in Scotland, temperatures are expected to rise again sharply afterwards.

The outlook for Christmas Day points towards showers and fog in places, with intermittent rain and drier interludes. Spells of strong winds are possible, but frost and fog are more likely during drier periods.
