UK heatwave: 22C highs expected next week!
23 Apr
Summary
- Temperatures could reach 22C in eight UK regions next week.
- High pressure will bring dry conditions and sunshine this weekend.
- Hay fever sufferers warned of 'High' to 'Very High' pollen counts.

Britain can anticipate summer-like warm temperatures throughout the upcoming weekend and into next week. New weather maps indicate that as many as eight regions could bask in highs of up to 22C by next Wednesday. This surge in warmth is due to an area of high pressure influencing the weather patterns.
Forecast data suggests widespread minimum temperatures of 20C, with southern areas expected to be the warmest. Specific locations like Somerset, Dorset, and parts of the West Midlands could reach 21C to 22C, significantly exceeding the average April daytime maximum of 14C.
The current warm spell is expected to continue through the weekend, offering ample sunshine for most. Deputy Chief Forecaster Steven Keates noted that while most areas will be dry, northern Scotland may see some patchy rain later in the weekend. Coastal areas might remain cooler due to onshore breezes, and gardeners should be aware of potential patchy overnight frost.
In addition to the pleasant weather, Britain's 16 million hay fever sufferers are warned about peak tree pollen season. The sunny and clear skies predicted for the weekend could exacerbate symptoms, with pollen levels forecast to be 'High' across England and Wales and 'Very High' in the Scottish Borders.
