UK Heatwave Ending: Prepare for Plunge!

Southern and eastern parts of England are set to experience a brief hot spell this Sunday, with temperatures potentially reaching 29°C, and possibly 30°C in isolated areas. This warmth is due to southerly winds drawing warm air from continental Europe. Temperatures are expected to rise into the mid-20s across much of England and Wales.

However, this period of warm weather will be short-lived. Conditions are expected to change by Sunday night as a deep area of low pressure moves in. Cooler weather is forecast to return next week, with Met Office maps showing highs falling to 23°C on Monday and 20°C on Tuesday. The period from September 9th to 18th suggests changeable conditions with drier spells and rain or showers, especially in the north and east. Subsequently, a trend towards more settled conditions with longer, drier intervals is likely, particularly in the south and southwest, as high pressure influences the UK.
