7 Jan
Summary
- Storm Goretti to bring snow, rain, and strong winds across England and Wales.

A potent storm, named Goretti by French meteorologists, is poised to strike southern Britain on Thursday and Friday. This weather system is anticipated to unleash a multi-hazard event, with snow expected on its northern edge and rain and severe winds dominating the southern areas. Dangerous conditions are also forecast along the English Channel and in northern France.
As a result, the Met Office has issued yellow warnings for snow across Wales and central/eastern England, with accumulations potentially reaching 20 centimeters, particularly in higher ground. Simultaneously, a yellow wind warning is in effect for southwest England, predicting gusts of up to 70 miles per hour that could cause snowdrifts.
