UK Heatwave Returns? 30C Forecasted Soon!
1 Jun
Summary
- Temperatures may climb back to 30C in parts of the UK.
- Thunderstorms and heavy showers are also possible this week.
- Sixteen counties could experience 28C or higher temperatures.

Following a scorching heatwave last week, UK temperatures are set to drop before potentially soaring back to 30C. This week, the Met Office forecasts highs between 19C and 22C, with a risk of thunder and heavy showers.
However, weather models suggest a significant warming trend, with some areas, particularly in the south-east, possibly reaching 30C by June 11. By mid-June, temperatures could remain in the mid-to-high 20s across the UK, with sixteen counties identified as likely to experience 28C or higher.
The Met Office indicates that while the latter half of June may start settled, an increased influence of low pressure towards the end of the month could bring more frequent heavy showers and thunderstorms, especially in the south, where it might become hot.
