UK Braces for 24C Heatwave: Summer's Last Hurrah?

A late-summer warmth is forecast to sweep across parts of Britain this weekend, with temperatures expected to reach 24C. London is predicted to experience the highest temperature, hitting 24C on Sunday afternoon. This warm spell will provide a pleasant break from recent autumn chill and showers for many.

However, a clear weather split is anticipated across the UK. While southern and eastern regions will bask in up to 24C, a substantial Atlantic band of heavy rain and unsettled weather will persist off the western coast, lingering over the ocean near Ireland and Northern Ireland. Mainland Britain is expected to remain largely dry with only isolated light showers. The Met Office outlook for Friday through Sunday (September 11-13) indicates changeable conditions with further showers or longer spells of rain, but also includes sunnier interludes, particularly in the north on Friday and the south on Saturday. Temperatures are expected to feel a little warmer by Saturday.
